Great Are You Lord

Made to Worship

“It’s Your breath in our lungs…”

I can’t get past that. It is the song that haunts me. It wakes me up in the mornings, I hear it bubbling up inside me when the silence falls all around me.  Lately, this song has been my inner soundtrack. In my anger at and misunderstanding of God, I hear Him saying to me, “Sing it to me, ‘Great are you Lord’.  In the midst of not understanding and the frustration and pain, say it and it will heal you. I will heal you. I will heal you of the torment of double mindedness. I will heal you of the frustration of not understanding. I will set you free from the worldly questions and the worldly perspective and bless you with eternal perspective. Sing it and get to know Me.  This is eternal life, to know Me.”

As in a recent prophetic word I heard, “Some of you have been facing a giant and the Lord is saying you have the rock to defeat it. You will defeat that giant with a rock and that rock is in your mouth!”

Great Are You Lord – All Sons and Daughters

You give life, You are love
You bring light to the darkness
You give hope, You restore
Every heart that is broken
Great are You, Lord

It’s Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise
We pour out our praise
It’s Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise to You only

You give life, You are love
You bring light to the darkness
You give hope, You restore
Every heart that is broken
Great are You, Lord

All the earth will shout Your praise
Our hearts will cry, these bones will sing
Great are You, Lord

From the dust we came and to the dust we will go.

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.  -Genesis 2:7 KJV

We’re living on borrowed time and it almost feels like an illusion.  Reality is outside of time, where God Himself lives.  We ride on the current of His breath.  How long can anyone last without breathing? I guarantee you it’s not more than a few minutes at most.  God not only made us in His image but we are made of Him. We are made of His breath.

To meditate on that takes me to the place of realizing why we will give an account for every idle word.

But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. -Matthew 12:36 KJV
